How true it is...Time really does fly. In the blink of an eye, here we are celebrating 20 years of what has always been a special relationship and a source of pride for Gallerina.

James Paterson has always produced works to be wowed by. I remember, as though it was yesterday. meeting a young James for the first time. He was then, what he continues to be, intelligent, humble (rare Bedfellows) and a truly wonderful artist. With brush strokes as confident as his, responsible for powerfully evocative art, one might expect to be met by a personality to match. But he continues to be the humble young man we met two decades ago.

During his career he has brought a fresh perspective to the pul, kitsch and undervalued images of yesteryear, re-establishing their impact. His superpower is a command of incredible skill and technique. Unbeknown to James he's often the recipient of a huge amount of praise from his fellow contemporary artists, many in awe of his ability, vision and execution.

Well known throughout the North, James has painted the portraits of many of Gallerina’s valued customers and their families over the years. Latterly, top Hollywood directors have come calling for commissions.

Housed throughout the entire first floor of Gallerina all three spaces will be dedicated to James' captivating works. We promise it will be all the fun of the fair. New works, with his trademark nostalgic twist. For Gallerina this is an opportunity to champion and thank James. We are beyond proud of him.
