'These new works on paper in part present a raw energy, I think they go further than that, as the paper demands a purity. You can’t get away with too much overworking. Thin very wet paint is expressively and intuitively brushed , poured and scraped into the surface . Each painting hopes to capture the spirit and mood of light over landscape and water.'
